DECARBONIZATION

Every production activity involves energy consumption and emissions that have an impact on the environment.

Decarbonization initiatives are integrated into our operational and industrial strategies. By joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the Group has defined science-based emission reduction targets. Through these actions, emissions management not only brings with it risk reduction, but also opportunities for growth, efficiency, and leadership for the Amadori Group in the agribusiness sector.

A rational management of consumption

Underlying our energy policy is a careful strategy of consumption rationalization. The Group's share of total energy consumption from renewable sources was 18% in 2024.And we have planned to reach 100% electricity consumption from renewable sources by the year 2033.

Our procurement strategy for these energy sources is based on:

self-generation of renewable energy through photovoltaic plants and cogeneration systems powered by biogas;
energy efficiency: implementation of technological solutions to optimize consumption in factories and farms.

An example of this approach is the Mosciano Sant'Angelo (TE) plant, where 100 percent of the electricity used is certified as coming from renewable sources through Guarantees of Origin.

We monitor greenhouse gases throughout the supply chain

The Amadori Group carefully monitors its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions along the entire value chain, dividing them into three main categories: Scope 1, 2 and 3.
This classification makes it possible to clearly identify the sources of emissions and to define targeted strategies to reduce the environmental impact of the company's activities, from production plants to suppliers and end customers.

By 2033, assuming 2023 as the base year, we have set targets to reduce combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 54.6 percent and a target to reduce Scope 3 emissions by 32.5 percent. These targets are complemented by the Amadori Group's commitment to reduce combined Scope 1 and Scope 3 FLAG19 emissions (related to land use change and livestock management) by 39.4 percent.
